Nordic Open Research is a newly launched academic publishing platform that needed a cohesive visual identity and a modern web presence reflecting trust, clarity, and academic professionalism. The original concepts, created by an external agency, felt outdated and lacked the structure and usability expected by scholarly users.
I led the redesign across branding, UX writing, and interface design, ensuring a unified experience across visual, structural, and content layers. I conducted a competitive audit to inform the platform’s layout and tone, and wrote or restructured the majority of the site’s page content to align with an academic voice and editorial clarity. From the refreshed logo to the responsive UI and clear information architecture, the new design supports the platform’s mission of open science and transparency.
The site is now live (https://nordicopenresearch.com), though some elements have been updated after launch and may not fully reflect the final version I delivered.
I’d love to hear from you, whether you have a question, a project in mind, or just want to say hi^^
